Never got a chance to post this pic from our anniversary night out. Kaitlyn was at Gigi and G-pa's, the twins had a baby sitter, and we went out with our good friends (and neighbors) Marla and Ken. We went out for a relaxing dinner and then to a comedy club, we had a great time!
It's amazing to me how we have gone from a newlywed couple to a family of 5 in "just" 10 years. I love you, Honey!

Bluebonnet pictures
Ah..........the Texas tradition of hauling your kids out to the bug-infested fields on the side of the highway to get pictures of your adorable kiddos as they sit on ant piles and get burrs in their Crocs. Doesn't that sound like FUN?!?!? :)
Actually, all went well this year for the most part, other than the burrs in the Crocs! Thanks to a suggestion from my Twins' group, we found an out-of-the-way spot on the grounds of a private school with no speeding cars nearby! Lauren had a blast wandering around, Kaitlyn had fun until the burrs hit her Crocs, and Emma......well, Emma had to be carried around a lot! We did get some great pictures, MUCH better than our experience at the portrait studio the next day for the twins 2 year pics. Let's just say Kaitlyn was awesome, Emma didn't scream, and Lauren........well, Lauren was "velcroed" to Mommy!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday
Kaitlyn was catching some Zzzzzzzzz's when Emma decided to climb in her lap, quickly followed by Lauren. :) Notice the tail end of Quack Quack as Kaitlyn's pillow--this is how she always sleeps!

Lauren's First Haircut
We had to go ahead and clean up Lauren's shaggy do this weekend, Daddy insisted! I was afraid we would lose all of her curls. Luckily, she looks much neater and does seem to have kept them as we only did a slight trim. Needless to say, she was NOT at all pleased with the experience! Luckily, she recovered quickly.
We had a pretty low-key weekend due to the fact that Kaitlyn had a fever all weekend, she is home today as well. We did manage a visit to the duck pond, as evident in Lauren's "before" pics....

My "new" blog!
Take a look---isn't it cute?!?!?!?!?!?
I think Hilary did an outstanding job.....see her link on my sidebar if you want your blog updated. She is wonderful to work with, very patient with me and all my questions and updates and centering issues! :) AND...she's having a sale right now!
I'm still working on updating a few things on my sidebar and maybe getting the background color changed....stay tuned!

Babies don't keep...borrowed from MckMama
The excerpt below is from one of my favorite Bloggers, MckMama. It is from her "name that photo" contest....the winning caption was "Babies Don't Keep". You should hop on over there and read the whole post....adorable picture with a perfect caption. (http://www.mycharmingkids.net) This poem makes me want to go wake up my babies and love on them----but I won't! :)
...It is from a poem by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton. I hadn't heard it in a long while, so the poem Song for a Fifth Child, written in 1958 and first published in the Ladies Home Journal, had been off my radar.
I am glad to have been reminded of it. It's positively beautiful and has been inspirational to my mothering.
I hope it will be for yours, too. Enjoy.
Song for a Fifth Child.
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
